David Richert was able to make the most of his opportunity and showed very well at a test session in Navarre, Spain, with championship winning race team, Inter Europol Competition. The event took place under a beautiful sunny sky at Circuito de Navarra, a race circuit tucked into the hills of northern Spain. This was Richert's first chance to experience driving the high powered Ligier JS P3 race car, a marked difference from the open cockpit vehicles that Richert has raced in the past.
"The LMP3 is a fantastic car to drive, it's very forgiving and lets you throw it around the track with freedom. It's always challenging to learn a new car and a new race track at the same time, but I think the test session went very well. A huge thanks to everyone at Inter Europol Competition for providing me with this opportunity." - David Richert
Inter Europol Competition, a Polish racing team that is powered by Keese Motorsport in Germany, has won the VdeV LMP3 Championship for each of the last two season. Inter Europol is a bakery based in Poland that offers Swiss, French, and Danish breads, produced of the highest quality, for customers around the world.
"David did a great job during the test and I believe he has the potential to be really quick in one of our LMP3 cars this season. We are trying to support him where we can to see if he can join our team for the rest of the year." - Michael Keese (Inter Europol Competition)
Despite his successful outing, the reality of motorsports is that it's a business first and foremost, so Richert will now be returning to Canada for the next couple of weeks to spend time securing the final resources he needs for the 2018 race season.
"This LMP3 test session has presented me with a very unique opportunity to advance my racing career. These chances don't come along very often so I'll work as hard as possible to take care of things on my end and hopefully be in a position to take advantage of it." - David Richert
